Yes Noble is finshed as a player but I'm sure behind the scenes he is fully engaged in everything in this season.

When "things even themselves out", Mark Noble' s going to get a Golden Boot, if he's still playing

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-3
Moyes is phasing Noble out with the dignity due to such a long serving player giving him a few minutes a game .
However there is a danger in this as he does slow everything down .
Should only be considered with a minimum of a 2 goal lead and preferably with 30 secs to go .

What I meant was that Benrahma would of been scurrying around and pressing forward. The last 10 minutes we didn't. Noble and the subs were a factor to us going all defensive when the attacking system in the first 80 minutes was what made us superior and enjoyable to watch.

I think, this time, the missed chances can mostly be put down to bad luck.

The absolute best part was the players and manager being irked and annoyed at the two goals we conceded, not the chances missed.

I've never known the BBC to have two midweek MOTD before, so I was caught out on this one. Anyway it's on iplayer so not a problem.

Thanks. Just found it - on 35 minutes: "Fucking... [pause]... bellend." Squeaky, aggrieved tone. Ha ha!

Thanks, easthammer - beating 12 wins in a row is a good target...

The ref had a mare at that throw and was rightly called a bell-end in a squeaky scouse accent.

Did anyone catch what Cresswell said to/at/about the ref last night? Fucking prick or something like that?

I’ll have to look at that goal again, dave.

Didn’t get the impression it came as a result of Noble doing anything especially wrong. Matter of personal opinion of course.

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-3
Once we took the pace of Antonio (who I still thought looked below par and not up to full speed last night) and benrahma off and stuck yarmolenko and noble in, they did what teams used to do with carroll up front and just pushed up about ten yards, we didn’t retain the ball up front and we didn’t close them down

If soucek/rice get injured we will be in trouble

That was the intention but it was the wrong player at the wrong time. Noble contributed nothing and that led to their goal.

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-3
The clear purpose and intention of the Noble sub was exactly what we saw Noble doing on the pitch - defensive ball retention to nullify their attacking threat.

This was largely delivered though, as has been pointed out, that last minute goal conceded is a call to action.

If Noble was a dog, you would have him put down.

Re: ⚽ Crystal Palace v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 2-3
Noble has been just about getting away with it for a few years now but just last night it’s frightening to see how little he can actually offer now. Shame, happens to em all in the end.
